Signs and Outdoor Display Structures

The Display of advertising signs on building and land shall be in accordance with part X "Signs and Outdoor Display Structures" of National Building Code of India as amended from time to time.

In addition to provisions of regulation No. 27.1, the following provisions shall be complied with for permitting advertising signs.

Roof Signs - They shall not be permissible.

Wall Signs - They shall be below by ground floor roof slab level.

a) Any sign attached to the wall shall not project more than 7.5 cm. from the wall

b) Lighting reflections may project maximum 50cm. beyond the wall surface.

Project sign shall not project beyond 0.9m. from the wall.

The overhead clearance from the ground level shall be not be less than 2.50m

No project sign shall be above the ground floor roof slab level.

Projecting signs shall include polls signs.

Morque Signs - They shall not project beyond the chajja in the building and shall not be above the ground floor roof slab height. They shall be above 2.50m height from ground level.

Sky Signs - Regulations laid down by the authority shall apply.

Prohibition of advertising signs and outdoor display structure in certain cases. - Notwithstanding the provisions of sub-regulations no advertising sign or outdoor display structures shall be permitted on buildings of architectural, aesthetical, historical or heritage importance as may be decided by the Commissioner, or on Government Buildings save that in the case of Government buildings only advertising signs or outdoor display structure may be permitted if they relate to the activities for the said building's own purpose or related programs.
