Chinese Fried Rice

Preparation time: 30 minutes

Cooking time: 35 minutes

Serves 6

Ingredients :
3 cups of basmati rice soaked in water for ½ hour 1 bunch of spring onions finely chopped
2-½ tsp. of oil 2 tsp. soya sauce
¼ cup boiled green peas ¼ cup french beans chopped fine
¼ cup carrots chopped fine 1-½ tsp. aginomoto
Salt and pepper to taste
Method:
  1. Drain the soaked rice. Put the rice in the pan of the cooker with the cooking plate. Add 5-1/2 cups of water, cover with the lid and switch to 'cook mode'.
  2. After about 20 minutes cooker will automatically switch to 'warm mode'. remove the rice and spread it on a plate. sprinkle Soya sauce , aginomoto, salt and pepper and toss well till the rice is well coated. After the rice cools, keep the plate in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  3. Put the oil in the pan of the cooker without the cooking plate and switch to 'cook mode'. After the oil heats add carrots, green peas, French beans, spring onions and cover with the lid. Saute in between to avoid burning.
  4. After 10 minutes add the rice to the contents of the pan and stir well.
  5. Cook for 5 more minutes and then switch off. Serve hot.
Note:
For best results keep the rice in the fridge overnight.
