   About Nagpur

  • Nagpur city's Foundation was laid by The Gond King of Deogad, "Bakht Buland Shah" in the year 1702.
  • Nagpur is well known for its oranges. It is also called as the "Orange City"
  • The Nagpur District's Area is 9931 Sq. Mt.
  • According to the 1991 census, the population of this region is 32,74,974.
  • Nagpur District Consists of 14 Tahsil places and 1958 small villages.
  • Nagpur was the capital of Central Provinces and Berar State till 1960.
  • On 1st May 1960, it became the Second Capital of Maharashtra State.
  • Nagpur will complete 300 years of establishment in the year 2002. A big celebration is being organised to mark this event.
