Pavnar is an historically important
village in the Wardha district. It is situated on the bank of
river Dham. Pavnar is one of the oldest settlements in the Wardha
district and is supposed to be named after a legendary Rajput King by
name Pawan. Of the modern places which have been invested with
sanctity are the Gandhi Kuti and the Paramdham Ashram of Vinobaji, the
Sarvodaiya leader who launched the bhoodan movement.
