Sewagram is an important village in Wardha district. Its original
name was Shegaon but Gandhiji making it headquarter of his social
service work changed its name to Sewagram. Sewa means service and Gram
means village. Sewagram is the epitome of Gandhiji's teachings of
simplicity and truth. There is also Gandhi Ashram, Gyian Mandir.
