Nagpur

- Nagpur city's Foundation was laid by The Gond King of Deogad,
"Bakht Buland Shah" in the year 1702
- Nagpur is well known for its oranges. It is also called as the
"Orange City"
- The Nagpur District's Area is 9931 Sq. Mt.
- According to the 1991 census, the population of this region is
32,74,974
- Nagpur District Consists of 14 Tahsil places and 1958 small villages
- Nagpur was the capital of Central Provinces and Berar State till
1960
- On 1st May 1960, it became the Second Capital of Maharashtra State
- Nagpur will complete 300 years of establishment in the year 2002. A
big celebration is being organised to mark this event.
