Nagpur is the city of The Republic of India. It is in the state of Maharashtra. 

In India there are three tire system of administration to rule any part of country.

1] Parliament : Nagpur is represented by one member to this council. Present member is Shri Vilas Muttemwar belongs to Indian National Congress Party. The member of Parliament is elected every five years by the citizen of Nagpur.

2] Assembly : Each state is having one state assembly. Nagpur is represented by five assembly men to this council. They are from West Nagpur, East Nagpur, Central Nagpur, North Nagpur and Kamptee. These assembly men are elected by the people of that region once in five years. 

3] Municipal Corporation : The day to day affairs of the city is maintained by Nagpur Municipal Corporation. There are 71 wards  and each ward is being represented by public representative elected by the people of that ward only.

In short Nagpur city is ruled by "The People of Nagpur only".
